Twilight Series, Bk 4
663 pages
E-Book
To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.
Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life--first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse--seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?
The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.
My Thoughts:
In the fourth, and final, installment of the hugely popular Twilight Series, Breaking Dawn follows the exploits of human Bella, vampire Edward, werewolf Jacob, and the supporting cast of characters, including the Cullen vampire coven and Bella’s father, Charlie. I am a fan of the series, but I did not love this book. There were many times that I just said “WTF?” I didn’t understand why the characters did what they did. I can’t really go into detail without giving away plotlines, but this book just left me feeling disappointed. I was happy with the outcome, but the path to the outcome was really bizarre and didn’t make much sense to me. I didn’t feel that the characters were true to who they are and it was a bit frustrating to read at times. That’s really all I can say without spoiling it. I’d give this one 3 stars.

Author: Stephenie Meyer
Series: Twilight Saga, Book 3
ISBN: 9780316160209
629 pages
Book Description:
"Readers captivated by Twilight and New Moon will eagerly devour Eclipse, the third book in Stephenie Meyer's riveting vampire love saga. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob --- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?"
My Thoughts:
Loved this book! I was completely engrossed in the story and literally could not put the book down. I did like New Moon slightly better, but only slightly. The triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob was riveting and will keep you flipping the pages well into the night! And, if that's not enough story for you, nearby Seattle is plagued with numerous killings. But who is behind it? With a climax that will leave you on the edge of your seat, Eclipse delivers a powerful story that will leave readers begging for more! I can't wait to read the next one!

Author: Stephenie Meyer
Series: Twilight (Book 2)
ISBN: 9780316024969
563 pages
Book Description:
The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.
My Thoughts:
I resisted reading the Twilight books for a really long time. I'm not really into the whole vampire, paranormal thing and this series didn't seem like something that would hold my interest. After talking with family members who urged me to read the books, I read Twilight. I was surprised that I actually enjoyed the story. So, on vacation this past week, I picked up New Moon. I literally devoured this book in two days. I have nothing but good things to say about this book. I loved it more than Twilight!! Great story, great characters, great everything!! I really enjoyed Jacob in the first book, so I was excited to have him play a larger role in this story. Great book and I am already reading book 3, Eclipse!!
If you are resisting reading this series, don't hold off. I am not a paranormal reader by any means, but these books really hold my interest and I have loved both Twilight and New Moon. I highly recommend them!

Description from Amazon: "Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite."
MY REVIEW:
I feel like I'm one of the last people to read this book! I normally do not read paranormal-type books with vampires, but I've had so many people recommend this book to me that I just had to give it a go. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed. The first half of the book really dragged on for me, though. I kept waiting for something to happen. It was just page after page of dialogue between the two main characters, Bella and Edward, and learning about Edward's life as a vampire. It was interesting to hear his back story, but I wanted the story to hurry up a bit! Finally, about halfway through, things started to pick up and I couldn't put the book down! I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
If you are like me and do not normally read these types of books, I would recommend that you at least read the first in the series. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It's really a love story between a normal human, Bella, and Edward, the vampire. Definitely different from my normal reading style, but very enjoyable!
